Simultaneous Interpretation
Simultaneous Interpretation is commonly used in international conferences, such as large-scale seminars, symposiums and workshops. An interpreter works with at least one colleague in a booth with the required interpreting equipment setup, and interprets into the target language while the speaker continuously speaks. An interpreting booth is required for simultaneous Interpretation; if there is no permanent booth, a mobile booth can be set up. Interpreters listen to what the speaker says through a headset and render the message into the target language almost simultaneously, and the audience can listen to the interpretation via receivers. When the conference discusses highly technical topics, it is possible to have three interpreters in the booth. There are regions and organizations that have already implemented this three-person system as common practice.
Consecutive Interpretation
Consecutive Interpretation is commonly used in seminars, lectures, summit talks, working-level meetings or meetings with a limited number of audiences. Without special equipment, an interpreter takes notes while listening to the speaker. When the speaker pauses or finishes speaking, the interpreter renders the message to the audience in the first person narrative. It is typical that the speaker and the interpreter take turn to make presentation and render the message into the target language, but in some cases, the interpreter waits until the very end of the presentation to interpret the message. For consecutive Interpretation, the meeting time may be twice of the meeting without consecutive interpreting service because both the speaker and the interpreter need time to speak.
Relay Interpretation
Relay Interpretation is commonly used in international conferences where more than three languages are used. Take an example of a conference of which the official languages are English, Korean and Chinese. A speaker speaks in English, and then Korean-English interpreter will interpret the speech into Korean, and Korean-Chinese interpreter will interpret from Korean into Chinese. The audience can choose a channel on receivers for his or her preferred language.
Whispering
The interpreter sits next to one or two people requiring interpretation and speaks softly as if he/she were whispering. It is similar to simultaneous interpreting but it does not involve any special equipment. Whispering interpretation is used when, for instance, there are only one or two persons who do not speak the language of the speaker while all the others in the room do.
Professional interpreters who provide the above interpreting services are commonly referred to as “simultaneous interpreters,” or more officially “conference interpreters.” It is ideal that such interpreting services be provided by conference interpreters who have completed proper training and built a reasonable amount of experience.

Literature Translation
In general, the source texts are creative works or research results of the author, and therefore regarded as intellectual property. To this end, it is more important for the translators to understand the author and his/her ideas behind the works or the research than for the cases of technical translation. Literature translation usually aims to be published, so the scope of target readers is broader than that of technical translation.
Technical Translation
Technical translation requires a thorough understanding of the background knowledge and terminology compared to literature translation, which requires a high level of creativity. Most of the professional translators are engaged in this area.
Localization
Localization refers to the entire process of translating, adapting and adjusting a product or service to a local language, society and culture so that it can be accepted by local audience. Localization becomes more significant in today’s globalized world, where global citizens communicate with each other in real time through a single platform called internet.
